Lokotsav 2022 – 22nd Annual Traditional Tribal Festival

Adarsh Yuva Sangh celebrated 22 years of Lokostav, a festival designed for the upliftment of the weaker sections of society, especially the Scheduled Tribe community. Lokostav 2022 aimed to revive and preserve India‟s rich cultural heritage and traditional games. Adarsh Yuva Sangh also organized the Birsa Munda Sports Festival 2022 at Adarsh Gram, Amone, Poinguinim, Canacona Goa, which was a grand success and attracted more than 2 lakhs people from all over India. The 1st edition of the Birsa Munda sports festival had been scheduled for 9, 10 & 11 December 2022 at Adash Gram Amone, Poinguinim, Canacona Goa. Various games were played in this sports event like State level Kabaddi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Marathon Race, Badminton & Traditional games. In this sports festival, more than 2200 players participated in various games, including Kho-Kho-288 Players, Volleyball- 800 players, Badminton-120 players, and Kabaddi-280 players. Marathon Race-400 players from all over Goa as well as India including 120 officials of various games. Birsa Munda Festival is assisted by various taluka, schools, clubs, associations, etc.The Birsa Munda Sports Festival 2022 was inaugurated by the Hon‟ble Governor of Goa, Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Speaker Shri Ramesh Tawadkar, MLAs, local leaders, and other dignitaries.

Shri. P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, the honourable Governor of Goa unfurled the flag of the sports festival and declared the sports festival open. Chief Minister of Goa Dr Pramod Sawant, Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri. Ramesh Tawadkar, Shri. Ulhas Tuekar- MLA Navelim, Shri Rajesh Faldessai, MLA of Kumbarjuem, Goa BJP President Shri Sadanand Tanawade Canacona Municipal Chairperson Ramakant Naik Gaonkar, Mrs. Savita Tawadkar, Sarpanch of Poinguinim and other dignitaries were present in the inaugural function of Birsa Munda Sports Festival 2022.
