Digital National Tribal Folk Dance Festival
The “Digital National Tribal Folk Dance Festival” was organised in collaboration with Ministry of Tribal Affairs, New Delhi, Directorate of Tribal Welfare, Govt. of Goa and Tribal Research Institute for the State of Goa from 17th to 19th December at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda. The set for the festival was design and executed with tribal attire and ambience with eco-friendly material. It was well decorated to depict the traditional handicraft of tribal art and culture.
This festival was conducted with the participation of Goan folk art groups and also from other states tribal folk art groups. The four tribal groups from outside Goa i.e, Jharkhand , Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and 10 groups from Goa performed in the festival. Each group consists of 20 to 30 artists as per the requirement of folk form. Besides officials around 430 tribal folk artists participated in this festival.
The outside state performed the folk dances namely Kaksar, Ghond, Paika Mundari, Sambalpuri, Mewashi and Ratwa dances and Goan tribal performed the folk dances such as Zagor, lamp dance, Goff, Mussal dance, Kunbi dance, Talgadi , officials around.
